"Peaks to Prairie" Documentary Film

Peaks to Prairie is a 20 minute documentary film about a holistic approach to soil restoration and forest management being piloted in Boulder County.

The film premiered in Feburary 2025. It will be screened at public events and film festivals and then later released online later in fall of 2025.

This film documents the process of taking woodchips from fire mitigation projects in the peaks,

transporting them to nearby agricultural land on the prairie, inoculating them with native fungi,

spreading those inoculated woodchips on top of the degraded land,

and then using cows to stomp those inoculated woodchips into the ground

to jumpstart the soil regeneration process.
